Dear Dmitry Anatolevich,

We address to you as to the guarantor of the rights of the peoples of Russia, including representatives of indigenous Russian ethnoses, by virtue of various tragical circumstances living outside Russia. We are extremely concerned about the destiny of Circassian Diaspora in Syrian Arabian Republic where now there is a bloody civil war and actually a real humanitarian catastrophe is shortly possible. Circassian settlements near Homs city have been undergone to artillery bombardment from the oppositional forces. In them there are significant human victims; majority of houses was destroyed, the oil pipeline running nearby was blown up, as a result of that the vicinity became unsuitable for living. A column of Circassian refugees from Homs moves to Damascus searching rescue. Those who remained at their places are exposed to attacks and threats from various militarized groups.

Escalation of confrontation in Syria is still on. Hundreds of Syrian Circassians had addressed to the president and the people of Russia with the request for their repatriation to the historical native land from which they had had been expelled 150 years ago.

Members of the initiative group of the Syrian Circassians who had addressed to the Russian administration with the request for repatriation arrived to Russia. They are going to meet with the heads of Adygeya, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachaevo-Circassia.
The Syrian Circassians are in a mousetrap now. On the one hand, the state borders are closed; the people who had addressed to the Russian president with the request for repatriation are suffered from an unprecedented pressure from the official Syrian authorities. People are afraid to show openly their views, the repatriation lists were sent to Russia secretly.

The international Circassian association (ICA) had sent letters to the heads of Adygeya, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachaevo-Circassia with a request to consider the opportunity of organization of places in the territory of republics for the time residing of repatriates from Syria. According to the vice-president of the ICA Mugdin Chermit, the State Duma and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation are studying the sent by Adygeya parliament’s official address to the authorities of the country with the request to assist in voluntary resettlement of Circassians of Syria to Russia.

Resolution of the housing question for several families of Adygs which had come back from Kosovo, became the subject of the recent meeting of the head of Adygeya Republic Aslan Tkhakushinov with the chief of the of Repatriates adaptation center Askhad Guchetl.

I observe with a deep concern the situation taking place today in Syrian Republic.
Your country, in which tens of thousands of our countrymen united in the Circassian diaspora, had found their shelter, is experiencing trully troubled times now. Concerns that Circassian diaspora may be the most vulnerable among the population of Syrian Republic, also appear. Already there are reports that among the victims of the events taking place in Syria, there were representatives of the local Circassian diaspora.
For over a hundred years our people faithfully served Syrian Republic, its people, actively participated in the creation of the armed forces of Syria, defending its borders from the enemies, making a great contribution to the national economy. Many Circassians became doctors, lawyers, economists and active participants in the business sphere, were and still are the law-abiding citizens of your country.

Dear Mister President Dmitry Anatolevich Medvedev and the Great People of Russia!
We would like to congratulate you on the holiday of Christmas and to wish you and the Great Russian People Peace and Prosperity. Let the New Year will bring you well-being and happiness.
Recently, the government of Russian Federation had got the appeal from our compatriots abroad, aboriginals of Northern Caucasus (Circassian (Adygeyan) community) living on the territory of Syria. That is extremely troubling us as their request is vital and urgent.
We would like to focus your attention on that the appeal of the Syrian Circassians (Adygs) was addressed to the indigenous historical native land, instead of any friendly country with Circassian (Adygeyan) Diaspora. It shows their sincerity and their great love to the primordial Native land. That is a proof of that they will be worthy citizens of Russian Federation.

Yesterday at the XI session of the supreme legislative body of the republican authorities the deputies adopted an address to President Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian State Duma, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, as well as to the heads of the two Northern Caucasian republics - Karachaevo-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria concerning facilitating of returning to the homeland of representatives of the Circassian Diaspora from Syria.
The adoption of document became one of the main issues of the session of the State Soviet-Khase, in which the head of Adygeya Aslan Tkhakushinov participated. Recall that on the eve of his return from Moscow, where the head of the republic had a working visit, Aslan Tkhakushinov commented on his position on this actual issue to the media. Yesterday the deputies supported him. "In Syria, there is the second largest population (after Turkey) of the Circassian Diaspora, which is on the verge of physical destruction in conditions of a burning up full-scaled civil war. It is our duty to address to the federal authorities to assist the voluntary resettlement to Russian Federation of our compatriots, Circassians living in the Syrian Arab Republic," the deputy Mugdin Chermit said.

Dear compatriots!

The Congress of the Ankara City Caucasian organization (Khasa) in which 325 delegates had participated, took place in Ankara.
In the agenda of the congress there were two questions - renaming of the organization, elections of the council and chairman of the organization. The question on renaming of "Caucasian organization of Ankara” in “Circassian organization of Ankara” was adopted unanimously.
The second question was elections of the members of the council and the chairman of the organization. For that purposes at the congress 2 lists were presented, every of them consisted of 9 persons. The list which had been headed by Inal Kozo got 186 voices. Representatives of this list became the members of the council, and Inal Kozo was elected the chairman of the organization.

On December, 13th at the Central office if the ICA a working meeting, devoted to influence of the internal political crisis in Syria onto the position of the Circassian Diaspora of the country took place. The action had been initiated by the chairman of the Coordination Council of Adygeyan (Circassian) public associations of Kabardino-Balkaria of Z.Kalmykov’s name. The president of the ICA K.Azhakhov, as well as the other members of the Council and the Executive committee of the ICA, members of the Coordination Council and repatriates participated.

"Circassian Circle" had been invited to attend the 55th anniversary conference of the Association of Producers (APAP) in New York, the USA. The conference will be held from 6 to 10 January 2012.
APAP members are more than 1,400 people representing the leading producer centers, governmental and commercial concert organizations of the USA, Canada and Europe. Number of artists who had declared their intention to show their performances to APAP members made one and a half thousand.

In Anaklia there will be fixed a monument devoted to victims of the genocide of the Circassian people of sculptor of Kabardino-Balkaria Kochesokov Hussein. His monument project was selected through an international competition.
As they reported the decision to establish that memorial was adopted by the Government of Georgia, and the issue of the competition’s organization was considered by the Georgian Parliament. Plans to hold such competition was announced on 2 August, and they started accepting applications in September of this year.

I come here today to share with under this honourable domain a message of hope, a future and peace, an opportunity to start a new, to evolve, to take our rightful place amongst our brothers and sisters of the global community of first nations.
Since the endorsement of the UN declaration of indigenous peoples, Indigenous Nations have been gradually one by one using the declaration to declare their place within humanity, endorsing their support for the UN declaration, and using its mandate to build a roadmap to achieve self-determination, reconciliation, and peace with the respective states.

On 11 November, 2011 in Istanbul in Sheraton hotel Minister on affairs of Diaspora of Georgia Mirza Davitaya, met several representatives of Circassian Diaspora of Turkey. Circassian Diaspora was represented by the ex-deputy from Bursa town Sheriff Birinch, doctor Nusret Vash, industrialist Abdullakh Teber, press-secretary of the movement “Initiative for Circassian Rights” Habradju Murat Ozden and a group of about twenty men.

Since 10/29/2011 till 11/1/2011 a visit of the active of the General council Krasnodar regional public organization “Adyghe Khasa” to Turkey took place. The structure of delegation included Asker Soht - chairman of “Adyghe Khasa”, Aslan Kabalaliev - director of company “Alpha-South Trance Krasnodar”, Circassian poet, Asiat Saitova –designer of Open Company “Svetoservis – Kuban”, Yusuf Shnahov - economist of Joint-Stock Company “DRU Armavir”, Anzor Nibo - editor-in-chief of newspaper "Shapsugia" of Sochi.
The basic goal of the visit was establishment of communications with the new management of the Circassian organization of Bursa town - the coordinator of the Circassian organizations of the area of Marmara sea, working out of the program of joint actions for 2012. The delegation led meetings with the Circassian organizations of Marmara area. In Bursa town a joint session of the active of the General council of Krasnodar regional public organization “Adyghe Khasa” and the Council of the Bursa town Circassian organization passed. At the session the program of joint actions for 2012 was considered. That very day a meeting with the active workers of the Circassian organizations of Marmara sea took place.

At the fund to support flood victims in Adygeya, known public figures of the Circassian world Dzhandemir Cihan, chairman of the Adyghe Hase of Turkey Yasar Hagundokov gave 30 thousand dollars collected by the Circassians, living in Turkey, reported the Caucasian Knot.
