The dance school of Anzor Shorov announced invitation of pupils and competitive selection into ensemble of Adygeyan dance created at the school.
New groups starts working since March, 1-st.

In Istanbul the memory evenings of Adygeyan poet, playwright, prose writer, the honored worker of arts of Adygeya Republic Nalbiy Kuek passed. Representatives of the Adygeyan Diaspora of Turkey and delegation from Adygeya in the structure of scientists, writers and journalists took part in them.
The meetings had been organized before the writer’s birthday under the initiative of two Adygs-repatriates well known N.Kuek. Both of them are admirers of his talent.

The combined team of Adygeya Republic on sambo-wrestling returned from the competitions of selection superiority on sambo-wrestling which had passed in the Novgorod area. The strongest sportsmen from all the regions of Russia annually take part in such selection competitions on sambo-wrestling. For the February superiority this time more than 300 fighters gathered. The combined team of Adygeya represented by 12 sportsmen and juniors, won during the tournament two prize-winning places.

The known armorer Asya Eutykh working in Adygeya Republic recently met with pupils of the republican college of arts. For conversation the artist had chosen the reading room of the National library. According to A.Eutykh, the atmosphere of the world of books adjusts perception of the high spheres.
At the meeting the master told about uneasy but honourable path of artist, about the thorny road of the creative person. Asya Eutykh is sure - self-sacrifice is important in arts, as the glory comes further, and it is not the main thing. The artist answered all the questions of the students and promised to make such meetings traditional.
Asya Eutykh is a jeweller, armorer, a member of the Union of artists of Russia, the national artist of Adygeya Republic. Asya Eutykh's products are stored in the funds of the State Hermitage and in the State historical museum of Moscow. Her works are executed in technics of moulding, engraving and gilding. The basic materials of her works include bronze, silver, gold and jewels. In 2008 she was awarded with the premium “Amra”, in 1998 - created weapons and ammunition for the personal Circassian guards (15 complete sets) of the Jordanian Prince Ali.

In Adygeya capital a personal exhibition of the artist from Takhtamukaysky area Saida Dzhaste was opened. All the works of the master are made in the realistic manner. The basic genres in S.Dzhaste's creativity are the still-life, landscape, and portrait. By the way, the last one is her favourite genre, and the most favourite model for her – the mother who poses with pleasure for the talented daughter.
The career of the artist had begun in 1988 when she saw a picture in her dream which subsequently she made in reality.

On February, 18, Saturday, the exhibition opens at 11:00 a.m., at support of the members of the commission of competition on creation of the monument to the victims of the genocide, the publishing house "Kafkas Evi" and Circassian active workers.
As it is known on February, 16th in Tbilisi the Center of Circassian Culture should have opened. The Circassian active workers gathering at that opening from all over the world, after that together with Minister on Affairs of Diaspora of Georgia should go to Turkey with a delegation and visit the opening of the exhibition. The exhibition will pass in two days in Istanbul in the Cultural Center of Fatih Ali Emri.

The congress of Adyghe Khase - Circassian Parliament of Adygeya Republic underlined that the internal political crisis in the Syrian Arabian Republic where the numerous Circassian Diaspora lives, as a result of external intervention turned into a military opposition. The peace population perishes; the country faces the threat of mass terrorism and a civil war. In those conditions the leadership of Russian Federation addresses to the parties of the conflict with the appeal to refuse using of the armed force, to start immediately development of mutually acceptable decisions on the basis of the meaningful dialogue.

Now in the Syrian Arabian Republic actually there is a civil war. In the process of opposing between the opposition and the state authorities the non-return point had been already passed by, and there is no chance to settle down the situation in the peaceful way. The war will proceed up to a victory of one of the parties, and after the end of the war the country will not be such as before any more. Now there is 130 thousand Circassians legislatively admitted as compatriots of Russian Federation. They had appeared there as a result of several tragical events. In the XIX century, as a result of the colonial war of Russia in Caucasus, their ancestors appeared on Balkan peninsula which at that time belonged to the Ottoman empire.

Dear Dmitry Anatolevich,

We address to you as to the guarantor of the rights of the peoples of Russia, including representatives of indigenous Russian ethnoses, by virtue of various tragical circumstances living outside Russia. We are extremely concerned about the destiny of Circassian Diaspora in Syrian Arabian Republic where now there is a bloody civil war and actually a real humanitarian catastrophe is shortly possible. Circassian settlements near Homs city have been undergone to artillery bombardment from the oppositional forces. In them there are significant human victims; majority of houses was destroyed, the oil pipeline running nearby was blown up, as a result of that the vicinity became unsuitable for living. A column of Circassian refugees from Homs moves to Damascus searching rescue. Those who remained at their places are exposed to attacks and threats from various militarized groups.

The administration of Kabardino-Balkaria supports the petition of the Syrian Circassians to the country leaders with the request to help with their repatriation to their historical native land. The letter of 115 citizens of Syria of Circassian origin was approved by the head of KBR Arsen Kanokov. Repatriation can change the situation in the world Circassian movement, the initiative in development of which will be after heads of the Russian regions.
The petition of the Syrian Circassians to Dmitry Medvedev had appeared in the end of 2011. The straining conditions in Syria influenced the Circassian Diaspora of that country. The first Circassians in Syria as the historians approve, had appeared in the XVII-XVIII centuries and the stream of their migration amplified in 1860-1880s.

On the basis of the Adygeya state university the annual republican Olympiad on Adygeyan language organized by the Ministry of education and sciences of republic, took place. In it more than 60 senior pupils of the republic who became the winners of the municipal stage of the Olympiad, participated.

The leader of Karachaevo-Circassia Rashid Temrezov handed over the premium to the candidate for the Olympic team of the country Arsen Pshmakhov.

On February 18th, the exhibition of Circassian genocide will be presented in Istanbul, Turkey.
It was arranged with the support of members of the commission of the competition to build a monument to the victims of genocide, the publishing house "Caucasia Evie" and Circassian activists.

Russian officials appear to finally give up on solving Olympic Sochi’s waste problem, despite promising in initial stages of development a program of ‘zero waste’ and showcasing the Summer Games in 2014 as the green Olympics.
As EWNC recently became aware, officials in Sochi’s Krasnodar region met with Russia’s natural resources and environment minister Yury Trutnev late last year (http://www.ewnc.org/files/sochi/tbo/2011-12-21_MPRE-protocol.pdf), and decided to move a controversial waste landfil to the mountains of Sochi, right near several sites of drinking water intake that feed half of the city’s population.

Escalation of confrontation in Syria is still on. Hundreds of Syrian Circassians had addressed to the president and the people of Russia with the request for their repatriation to the historical native land from which they had had been expelled 150 years ago.
Syria And Russia
Members of the initiative group of the Syrian Circassians who had addressed to the Russian administration with the request for repatriation arrived to Russia. They are going to meet with the heads of Adygeya, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachaevo-Circassia.
The Syrian Circassians are in a mousetrap now. On the one hand, the state borders are closed; the people who had addressed to the Russian president with the request for repatriation are suffered from an unprecedented pressure from the official Syrian authorities. People are afraid to show openly their views, the repatriation lists were sent to Russia secretly.

The international Circassian association (ICA) had sent letters to the heads of Adygeya, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachaevo-Circassia with a request to consider the opportunity of organization of places in the territory of republics for the time residing of repatriates from Syria. According to the vice-president of the ICA Mugdin Chermit, the State Duma and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation are studying the sent by Adygeya parliament’s official address to the authorities of the country with the request to assist in voluntary resettlement of Circassians of Syria to Russia.
