On April, 4th, the forum of Adygs Kabardino-Balkaria took place. In the forum the leader of "Adyghe Khasa" of KCR Muhamed Cercesov and the head of "Adyghe Khasa" of Adygeya Republic Amerby Hapay participated. Speaking about the reasons of participation in the Adygs’ forum of KBR in the exclusive interview to IА REGNUM correspondent the leader of the Adygeya public organization Amerby Hapay told: "Problems of Adygs in Kabardino-Balkaria are much acuter. We cannot stand aside when our brothers are tried to take away the primordial historical territory and "Council of elders of Balkarian people" should understand it".
According to A. Hapay, "it is impossible to infringe upon interests of the other people living in the republic. The situation is very complicated, first of all it is necessary to learn to agree, thus not infringing the historically fixed territorial interests of own people. Anyway Adygs (Circassians) have lost too much within the centenary war with the Russian autocracy protecting their independence. As representatives of one ethnos we, Adygs (Circassians), simply survive, struggling that for one thing or another instead of developing. Today we together have discussed problems of our people. These are the problems connected with Adygeyan (Circassian) language and Adygs’ returning to the historical native land and many other things".
"Certainly it is impossible to speak that all Adygs living in the other countries would want to return to Russia in general, as it is difficult to forget all the acquired and to change the common lifestyle. Adygs (Circassians) who wish to return can be separated on two groups: those who wish to have only Russian citizenship and those who wish to have a dual citizenship. Such problems as now in Kabardino-Balkaria will arise all the time in all the regions where Adygs (Circassians) live. The Russian leadership should understand that the resolution of he All-Adygeyan question, namely decision for association of the ethnos in the historical territory and the positive resolution of the question of repatriates is necessary", - the leader of Adygeyan public organization concluded.
