The Circassian Federation of Europe is going to organize on May, 21st this year “The Day of Memory for victims of the genocide of Northern Caucasian peoples and their exile from Caucasus”. The Federation intends to hold the action to commemorate the 145th anniversary of the tragical events of the XIX century.
“For the annual commemoration the Circassian Federation of Europe invites all the fellow countrymen to the memorial ceremony. As the organizer of this year is the North-Caucasian Cultural Association in Berlin,” – it was spoken in the announcement of the organization.
“The orators from Germany and Turkey, - the organizers stated, - will express their deep understanding of the essence of the consequences of that genocide which because of more than a half of the million victims is considered as one of the most terrific genocides in the mankind’s history”.
The memorial ceremony under the slogan "We shall not forget...!" will take place from May, 22 till May, 24th in Berlin, the EuroKhasa web-site informed. The action will represent “its participants the expanded information about the victims of the genocide, and will provide a wide platform for dialogue and further public contacts”.
In the memorial ceremony there will be participants:
Jam Ozdemir, member of the European Parliament and the Leader of the party "Green" Germany;
Yalsin Karadas, architect, writer and member of “Jineps” newspaper publishing house;
Mitat Tselikapapa, senior lecturer, Doctor of science, teacher of the international relations of the University of economy and technologies in Ankara;
Hasan Kanbolat, the expert of the Strategic Research Center of Eurasia (ORSAM) in Ankara, member of the Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey;
Udo Steinbach - Professor, Doctor of science, director of German journal “Orient” in Hamburg and coeditor of the book of articles about Caucasus;
Hajaa Karadas and Alper Siuriukiu, artists and musicians from Turkey.
Admiral Dasdemir, chairman of Circassian Federation of Europe and Timur Jildirim, chairman of North Caucasian cultural association in Berlin signed the program.
