In KBR horse voyage and climbing onto Oshkhemafe mountain is prepared 

On July, 17th, 2009 in Nalchik the anniversary horse voyage, devoted to the 180th anniversary of the military-scientific expedition of general Emanuel in Northern Prielbrusie, and to the first, documentary recorded the successful climbing onto Elbrus mountain by the participant of expedition Kilar Hashirov, will be started.

The project had been initiated by Social movement “Khasa” in Kabardino-Balkaria and found a wide support in the next republics. Representatives of Karachaevo-Circassia and Adygeya Republic, “Russian geographical society” of Pyatigorsk, “Slavic union” of Stavropol, “Goriachevodskaya Cossack community”, association "Lazalay" (France) and the lineal descendants of general Emanuel and Kilar Hashirov expressed their wish to participate actively in the project.

The integrated organizing committee which had developed a route and the plan of the action, was created. Thus, it turned into the international project including two basic stages: the horse voyage and mountain climbing. The action on sending the horsemen on the square of Abkhazia (Nalchik) is planned for July, 17th then the horsemen will go to starting camp (Shalishka settlement). In the morning on July, 18th the group of the riders under leadership of Ibraghim Jaganov will be move to Pyatigorsk.

Having the horsemen of Pyatigorsk and Stavropol Region joined, the horsemen’s group will make a two-day way to Northern slope of Elbrus where on July, 21st the relay race of the action will be taken by the group of professional climbers and rescuers headed by colonel of Ministry of Emergency Measures Asker Khashirov (the lineal descendant of the first climber - Kabardian - Kilar Khashirov). The base camp will be settled into the territories of glade Emanuel, a rate of adaptation will take place, and climbing onto the top will be started.

For participation in the riding well prepared horsemen and horses had been selected. Not everyone can manage to make a long distance to the mountain territory for such short period of time. The climbing to mountain along the line of the conductors of Emanuel is also the most difficult way of Elbrus’ conquest, and demands the high professionalism and good physical state of the participants.

The project is a public initiative and needs financial support.

The purpose of the project is repeating the international campaign on the route of 1829, to fasten friendship of the peoples of republics of Northern Caucasus. And to celebrate the first climber to Elbrus, the son of our republic - Kilar from the kin of the Khashirovs.
