Two books of Old testament published in Adygeyan

The institute of the Bible translation released translation of the Third and the Fourth Books of Empires of the Old testament in Adygeyan language.

The Third and the Fourth Books of Empires are initial and concern to the historical books. Apparently, once they had been a single book, and then - divided in two. The Books tell about the lifestyle of the people of Israel in the promised land from the beginning of Solomon’s ruling till the last years‘ existence of Judea after the falling of the Northern empire. In the books dependence of the historical destiny of Israel on its fidelity to the God is shown; the reasons of destruction of Jerusalem in 587 B.C.. and Jews’ resettlement to Babylon are explained.

The named edition is already the fifth in the number of translations of the books of the Old testament released in Adygeyan language, Ringing of church bells informed. It continues the cycle of the historical books, started in 2002 with the First and Second Books of Empires. For the past 7 years professionalism of the group increased, as conceptual vision of the project developed. The creative collective replenished with artist Saferby Khakuz who prepared six illustrations specially for the book. The translator into Adygeyan of the project is journalist Fatimat Kajtmesova who devoted her literary talent to translation of the Bible, and during the work in the project got a wide experience. Together with the other participants of the translational group she continues her work over the Books of the Second Law and the Outcome which now are at the stages of the theological editing and approbation.

Earlier in Adygeyan language they had released the New testament (1991), Life (2005), Ruth’s and Esthir’s Books, and the Book of Ion Prophet (2006) and Psalter (2007).
