Circassian genocide conference is planned in Tbilisi

Proceeding Crimes; People of Northern Caucasus Between Past and Future”. The organizers of the conference are Jamestown Foundation, the USA, the International school of Caucasian researches, Ilya Chavchavadze University, Georgia. According to Ruslan Keshev, the head of "Circassian congress” of Kabardino-Balkaria, he had received an invitation and he is going to take part in its section “Genocide of Circassians”. “If we have a chance of recognition of the genocide of Circassians even from one country, it should be used, - he said in the conversation with NatPress. – The issue that had started by "Circassian Congress" of Adygeya now has real chances to be implemented”. NatPress interlocutor prepared a report about the situation around “Circassian question” in Caucasus. He would discuss the position in Adygeya, KBR and KCR. “In essence, the latent genocide proceeds. Examples for that are constant attempts of liquidation of Adygeya’s statehood, giving out of Circassian territories to Balkarians in KBR, creation of the North-Caucasian federal district which has divided us again, ignoring of Circassians in connection with the Sochi Olympiad”, - he explained. In his opinion, Circassians have the full moral right to address to the world community for resolution of the problems as Russia demonstrates full absence of the Circassian problem IN ALL directions of internal and foreign policies. “We shall call up all the states of the world to recognize the genocide of Circassian people”, - Ruslan Keshev finished the conversation. Tamara Polovinkina, historian from Sochi, answered NatPress that she had also received an invitation, but she would not participate in the forum and had already warned its organizers about it. According to information of some sources, in the work of the forum chairman of "Circassian Congress” of Adygeya Murat Berzegov would take part. The head of "Circassian Congress” of Karachaevo-Circassia Kasey Kik could not go to Tbilisi. According to the data of Jamestown Foundation, published on its website, at the conference scientists and public figures of the USA, Georgia, Russia and the Russian Caucasus, Turkey, Jordan and Israel should act. In the announcement there are others also known in the Adygeyan world names: the president of Circassian cultural institute Iyad Yaguar (USA), the employee of the institute Ali Berzeg, journalist Fatima Tlisova, doctor Liza Cherekzi (New Jersey, the USA), Ali Hadish, Radio "Adyga", the doctor of historical degree Yahia Hun, (Israel), Dina Bislan, the organization “Friends of Adygs of Caucasus” (Jordan).
