Pr' Dzha Myrze Assen ten times champion of Australia in karate
Australia was inhabited about 50,000 years ago, the remnants of its native population are Australian aborigines. Documented history of Australia begins with its discovery by Europeans in the XVII century. In 1788 in Australia there was founded the first British colony, and in 1901 the Australian colonies formed the Commonwealth of Australia.
In Australia, the Circassian diaspora in existence since 1949 and 50s, when there came Ahmetech Medzhidovich Dzhamirze and Yusuf Tsey. After passing almost all over the world, these two Circassians were in Australia and founded a Circassian Association. Officially, it was registered in 2008. According to statistics, in Australia 10 000 Circassians, but in reality there are about 2.5 thousand. Australian Circassians gather together, organizing regular meetings, communications, picnics, and exchange information. Every year people are coming more and more. At the last such meeting there were 60 people. Such meetings are necessary for those who care about their roots, their heritage. It's sad that there are Circassians, who knew nothing about their background, believed that they were French. And only by last name, you can easily identify that they are Circassians.
Information Agency NatPress closely cooperate with the Diaspora, to exchange information. Along from Adygeya to Australia a print edition of "NatPress" will go out from which the Australian Circassians will learn news from home. The publication will also be distributed by subscription in the Southern Hemisphere, and perhaps in countries of North and South America.
