Adygeya marked day of Circassian costume

September 28 at Maikop in the Oriental Museum there was hosted an exhibition of renowned designer Yuri Stas, which was presented the Circassian national dress in its different variants. It is worth noting that this day coincided with the anniversary of the famous fashion designer. Stas Yuri was born September 28, 1931 in the village Gabukay in Teuchezhskiy District of Krasnodar Krai (now the Republic of Adygeya). He studied in Moscow, he is an Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Adygeya, winner of the Republican public organization "League of Peace." His suits and other carvings were displayed not only in Maikop, Krasnodar, Moscow and other Russian cities, but in the U.S., Syria and Jordan. The costumes, created by Yuri Stas, have no analogues in world art. They are beautiful, unique and convey nor incomparable flavor of the Caucasus. The exhibition was opened by the State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble "Nalmes", then the audience was told about the history of male and female Circassian costume. An interesting fact was that the clothes Circassian (Adyge), like most people, different in caste variations. White attire preferred in princes, red - nobility, gray, brown and black worn by peasants. Circassians have been developed weaving cloth from wool, felt production.
