Opening of festival “Our Caucasian Chalk Circle” took place in Maykop

On the stage of the Adygeya National theatre the troupe of the Circassian drama theatre from Karachaevo-Circassia presented performance “Winners of Death”. The play opened the third inter-regional festival of the Adygeyan-Abkhazian theatres “Our Caucasian Chalk Circle”. This year the festival gathered five theatrical collectives, including a troupe from Turkey. For the first time the theatrical season of this year opened not only in habitual for spectators of Adygeya Russian and Adygeyan languages. On the stage of the Pushkin House (Maykop) Italian and Ukrainian languages also sounds.
Before the playtime the stage was visited by representatives of the republican authority who congratulated the actors with their success and wished them further creative prosperity. To participate in the opening ceremony the head of Adygeya Aslan Tkhakushinov also arrived.
“Winners of Death won” is a love story of a Circassian guy and an Italian girl which managed to escape from a fascist concentration camp. Spectators with delight accepted the play and estimated talented game of the actors.
This year actors from Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachaevo-Circassia, Krasnodar region, Northern Ossetia and Adygeya take part in the festival. The theatrical company was also presented by the Adygeyan Diaspora of Turkey.
As to Adygeya National theatre its actors always thoroughly prepare for the festival and represent only the best play from its fund. The last time it was the play "Medea", this time performance “Koch’as” under a play of Ibraghim Tsey. It is necessary to note that performance is sign for theatre as the history of Adygeya National theatre started with it.
