Ministry&nbsp;of&nbsp;Internal&nbsp;Affairs&nbsp;of&nbsp;Kabardino-Balkaria&nbsp;had&nbsp;not&nbsp;fulfilled&nbsp; Kozak’s&nbsp;promise&nbsp;

In Nalchik announcement of results of the investigation of the events on October, 13-14th was expected on December, 7th. That announcement had been sounded by the plenipotentiary in the Southern district Dmitry Kozak at the press conference in the Council of Federation in Moscow. As IА REGNUM had informed earlier, replying the questions of journalists about mass detentions and tortures of the arrested persons in Kabardino-Balkaria, Dmitry Kozak declared that not later than this Wednesday in Nalchik the law-enforcement structures would report the journalists about all available information on the October revolt in Nalchik, and would lead representatives of mass-media to the places of detention of arrested persons.

For participation in excursion to the jail of Nalchik film crews of all central Russian TV-channels arrived, IА REGNUM correspondent informed. Those journalists, whose professional position was not equivalent to the position of the press-service of the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs, in advance had been informed not to make an application for their accreditation. But the show did not take place. Firstly in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kabardino-Balkaria where they dated a press conference at 10.00 a.m., the journalists were declared about canceling of the briefing without an explanation of reasons.

The press-service of the president of Kabardino-Balkaria tried to save the situation. The journalists were invited in the House of Government for participation in a joint press conference of the president with heads of the power structures. But that press conference did not take place, too - because of absence of representatives of the power structures.

As the press-secretary of the president of Kabardino-Balkaria Djamilia Hagarova informed the journalists that announcement of results of the investigation of events on October, 13-14th takes place on Friday on December, 9th in the Office of Public Prosecutor with participation of the assistant to the public prosecutor of Russian Federation Nikolay Shepel. The excursion promised by Dmitry Kozak in the isolator premises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kabardino-Balkaria was cancelled. Instead of that they promised the journalists to give a video film shot the at places of detention of arrested by employees of the press-service of Ministry of Internal Affairs of KBR.

Earlier a number of Russian and international legal expert organizations acted with condemnation of the methods used by law enforcement bodies of Kabardino-Balkaria in relation to arrested persons suspected in participation in the attack the power structures in Nalchik on October, 13-14th. Legal experts declared about brutal tortures by means of which they had beaten out from the arrested persons some confessions.

More than fifty relatives of the killed during the mutiny on October, 13-14th distributed their reference to the international community with appeal to "carry out international investigation of the October events in Kabardino-Balkaria and the preceded period of mass reprisals concerning the religious youth". The copy of the reference was sent by the lawyers to the North Caucasian edition if IА REGNUM.
