Adygeya republican clinical dentist polyclinic received a grant from the International charitable fund of fluorined milk. The program on fluorined milk, initiator of which that polyclinic had become, has been proceeding in Maykop since 1994. The initiative was supported by the World Health Organization.

The point is that fluorine concentration in the drink water of the town is very low. That leads to practically 100 per cent caries affection among children. Since that time the department of fluorined milk production works in Adygeya capital and the children of youngest age in the pre-school institutions receive that milk daily. Since 1999 fluorined milk has been distributed in the nursery schools among all the children. That measure according to doctors’ opinion allowed shrinking children’s caries in three times.

The sum of received grant is not big – for about 150.000 rubles. But they plan to do by these means very many things. Among them there are doctors’ training in epidemiological investigation, publishing of booklets for children and parents about fluorined milk and some renewing of equipment in the department of fluorined milk production.
