About the repertoir and the creative plans for the future of the Adygeya drama theatre in one of the programs of the Radio of Adygeya the director of the theatre Malaichet Zehova told. As she said, now in the work of the troupe Kadyr Natkho’s play "Medeia" (USA), written several years ago specially for the theatre. There are also Nalby Kuek’s play "Narts’ Games", Chatib Paranuk’s play (while not named), and Muliat Emizh’s play "Ivan and Maria".
Attempts to stage "Medeia", the director explained, had been undertaken earlier, however the play is interesting, but difficult. "Medeia" is an ancient Greek tragedy, and in its author’s treatment its main character is our compatriot. And in this connection in the play very many things about Adygs were introduced. But, on the other hand, staging of the play will require great means. When, for example, the artists have counted up, how much money it would be necessary for manufacturing of the scenery, M. Zehova mentioned, it appeared that the sum is comparable to sums the theatre receives for one year as a state financial support. Therefore the theatre now searches for sponsors for its direction.
As to the other two plays, the second of them was ordered to the author and now is purchased by our theatre. That is a philosophical composition, in which in interesting ways and with a great sense of humour are plaited the ancient past, modernity and ideas about the future. The third play is published in a book. "We know our past very little, - M. Zehova explained. – The play is about Russian tsar Ivan Groznyy and Adygeyan princess Maria. About that epoch, the way Adygs became relatives to the tsar, about merits of those persons. But we had paid special attention to the love between the tsar and his wife". This play will be performed in Moscow, the director told.
